BlackStar Books & Caffe is your home in Algiers, LA for fresh brewed Afrikan coffees, refreshing herbal teas, and delicious salads & san'miches. Located on the Westbank at 3211 General Meyers, we're open every day from 11am to 8pm, with early hours on Monday and Wednesdays starting at 7am.
Every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, BlackStar Books & Caffe has activities for the youth including Capoeira , cartoons, storytime, and outdoor play. Join us every 2nd and 4th Sunday for the Liberation Lounge open mic at 7pm. Our next event will feature celebrate soul singer Suave's Hip Hop Soul Revival with performances by Truth Universal, Lyriqs, and Babatunde Omowale with our house band, The Mighty Mighty BlackStar Bangas!
